Secondary Filtration Device

CYprocess secondary filtration devices — also called after-filters or polishing filters — sit downstream of receivers and vacuum pumps and catch the fines that pass the primary stage. Exhaust air stays clean even when the primary filter is near the end of its life.

Overview

About Secondary Filtration Device

How this equipment works in powder handling lines and what to consider when selecting it.

Working principle

Air from the receiver or pump enters the stainless housing and flows through a cartridge stage sized for the fine fraction. Because the load here is light — it is the residual after the main filter — cartridges last long and the pressure drop stays low through the whole campaign.

Options and integration

Housings are sized to the air flow of the conveying package, with differential pressure indication to show cartridge state. They mount on vacuum pump exhausts, receiver vents and blower inlets where ambient dust must stay out of the machine.

FAQ

Secondary Filtration Device FAQ

Common questions about selection, integration and quotation.

On ordinary duties the primary stage is enough. Where exhaust air must stay clean regardless — cleanroom adjacency, hazardous products, or a pump that must not ingest fines — the secondary stage is cheap insurance because it only ever sees a light residual load.
