Valves

Butterfly Valve

CYprocess butterfly valves — also called disc valves or wafer dampers — isolate powder at silo, hopper and conveying line outlets, and regulate air or dust-laden gas in ventilation ducts. Manual, pneumatic and electric actuation is available in wafer or flanged patterns.

Overview

About Butterfly Valve

How this equipment works in powder handling lines and what to consider when selecting it.

Powder isolation

Powder-duty butterflies give on-off isolation at hopper, silo and vessel outlets. The disc closes against a seat matched to the product, and food-grade or industrial seals are chosen according to the cleaning standard. Compact wafer construction keeps the installed height to a minimum.

Ventilation and duct duty

Ventilation butterflies regulate air and dust-laden gas in metallurgy, building-material, chemical and power ducts. Nominal pressure is typically at or below 0.05 MPa over a 0-90° rotation, with leakage around 3% on standard builds and about 1% on high-seal designs. Temperature grades cover elevated flue-gas duty.

FAQ

Butterfly Valve FAQ

Common questions about selection, integration and quotation.

Powder-duty valves isolate product at hopper, silo and line outlets, so the seat and disc are chosen for the material and the cleaning standard. Ventilation valves regulate air and dust-laden gas in ducts at low differential pressure, where sealing and temperature rating dominate instead.
