Pipe Elbows

CYprocess pipe elbows — also called conveying bends — turn pneumatic lines through any radius and angle. Standard steel builds serve clean duties, while backed and lined versions take the abrasive corners that eat plain bends.

Overview

About Pipe Elbows

How this equipment works in powder handling lines and what to consider when selecting it.

Working principle

An elbow is where conveying lines live or die: product is thrown against the outer wall and the wear front forms exactly there. Bend radius, wall thickness and backing decide how long the elbow survives, so we treat the bend as a wearing part with a planned service life rather than a fitting.

Options and integration

Long-radius bends reduce impact and pressure drop on fragile products; short radii suit tight plant routes. Wear options include thick-wall backing, replaceable wear backs and ceramic lining, all flanged or shouldered to match the existing line.

FAQ

Pipe Elbows FAQ

Common questions about selection, integration and quotation.

Longer radius spreads the impact over more wall and keeps product moving with fewer secondary impacts — best for fragile and high-velocity duty. Tight radii save space and suit dense phase, where product travels slowly. The radius follows the conveying mode first, then the space available.
