Ceramic Lined Pipe

CYprocess ceramic lined pipes and bends — also called alumina wear pipes — carry the conveying line through its worst corners. Where a steel bend wears through in months, a ceramic liner outlasts it many times over.

Overview

About Ceramic Lined Pipe

How this equipment works in powder handling lines and what to consider when selecting it.

Working principle

A dense alumina liner — sintered tiles or a cast monolith — forms the inner surface where the product actually slides. Ceramic is far harder than the toughest steel at a fraction of the weight of armour plate, so the wear front barely moves even on sharp bends at high velocity.

Options and integration

Tile-lined and monolithic liners suit different radii and products; ends are flanged or shouldered to match the line. Typical mounts are dilute-phase bends, dense-phase elbows behind blow tanks and downstream of rotary valves — the points where a plain steel line fails first.

FAQ

Ceramic Lined Pipe FAQ

Common questions about selection, integration and quotation.

Wear concentrates in bends and direction changes, so the usual pattern is ceramic bends plus steel straights, extended with more ceramic only where inspection shows wear. Spending ceramic on the few real wear points gives most of the life gain at a fraction of lining the whole line.
